OUR STORY
Designed in London with care and intention
SATO comes from years of working in the industry, learning what makes clothing work for real life. I've always been drawn to pieces that feel special without being complicated — the kind of things you reach for again and again because they just work.
Having a fashion background, I understand that quality sits at the forefront of any product. It's the foundation everything else is built on — from the way a piece feels to the confidence it gives the wearer.
From every angle — the fit, the fabric, the color, the design concept — each element is considered with intention. You'll find loose, feminine fits that let you move and breathe. Some pieces have wide neck collars or back details that can be worn open or closed. The colors are chosen to reflect mood — soft pinks, lavenders, navy, olive, clean whites.
The name SATO means "to sow," as in planting seeds. As a designer, every piece needs to be something I genuinely love and would wear myself. If I'm half-hearted about a design, I wouldn't expect anyone else to wear it with love.
The internal construction matters as much as what you see on the outside. Clean finishes throughout. Quality fabrics. Attention to the details that make a piece last.
My inspiration comes from East Asian culture — the precision, the attention to detail, the understanding that nothing should feel like an afterthought. There's a touch of structure mixed with softness. Traditional sensibility meeting modern ease.
I think about the woman who's meeting friends for brunch, going to a gallery, heading to dinner in the city. Someone who wants to feel comfortable and look put-together without overthinking it. The pieces work from day to evening, casual to dressed up. They're versatile because that's how most of us actually live.
Everything is made to order by skilled craftspeople, which means a 3-5 week lead time. It's a slower approach, but it means we're not overproducing or rushing. Each piece is made thoughtfully.
If you're looking for pieces that feel elevated but wearable, with a bit more thought put into them than usual, that's what we're here for.
